Today I learned about the Doppler effect. The effect is based off of wave lengths coming from an object. Lets take a car horn as an example, when the car is coming towards you the horn is a high pitch noise. When the car is passing you the car horn is lower pitch. This is because when an object is moving the wave lengths travel closer and smaller and produce a blue shift. The wave lengths behind the object are larger and longer and produce a red shift this is the Doppler effect.
Christian Doppler was the person who invented the Doppler Effect in 1842. He was a mathematician from Salzburg, Austria. We also use the Doppler effect to predict the weather forecast. Meteorologists use microwaves as a measurement for the Doppler Effect to measure waves.

INFINITY
What is infinity? This is a question that can not be solved. In fact a lot of people have tried to solve this but they can't because it's infinite. Thats what infinity is it is infinite. As am example there are as many even numbers as whole numbers. You may not get it but it is true. Another fact is that you can't list decimals and fractions I mean you can but you would die before you could finish because the numbers in math are infinite. It may take a while for you to wrap your head around the whole topic so this video I watched helped a lot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPA3bwVVzGI the video talks about infinity and what it is and how it can be better explained.

Cartesian dualism
Today in my class I learned about Cartesian dualism and about the body, mind, and soul. Cartesian dualism was created by Rene Descartes, a person who I talked about in one of my past posts. Basically, what Cartesian dualism is a theory that your mind and body are separate and how your body is tangible and your mind is non tangible. First, in my opinion you can touch your mind but to do that it would be very painful. Second, how can your body be separated from your mind and if you could wouldn't scientists have figured it out already. Third, I feel like your mind stays in your body but your personality, thoughts and emotions toward objects in real life stay the same. Finally, when you die I theorize that your body and mind stay together and stay six feet under ground in a coffin and decay only your personality, soul, thoughts, and emotions go to a place mankind has yet to adventure to.

Today I learned about finances and what it would be like to live off minimum wage at the age of 18. First, living on a minimum wage income is very difficult and hard to live off of. In addition, you have to pay rent ,taxes ,gas money, insurance, car insurance, food, water, electricity, and phone bill while keeping a job. However, I learned that you can cut down your rent, food, water, electricity, bill by either moving to a cheaper apartment or getting room mates. At first, I did not understand this roommate concept but the phrase "the more the merrier" donned on me and I understood why it is important to have roommates. Also, I learned that there are many distractions to spend your money on such as women/men, pets, clothes/ shopping and other fun or weird items that you would just want to have.

Today I learned about the universe and Newton's law on gravity, Newton’s law states that every particle in the universe attracts every other particle with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.
This means that the closer the objects are to each other the more they are attracted to each other. So I'll show an example. Lets imagine a car and Earth attracted to one-another. Thats why the car stays on the ground instead of the floating in the air. Another example of gravity at work is in this link below.

Today I want to discuss about politics and equal rights.
The Charter of the United Nations was established in 1945 after the end of WWII acknowledging the devastation of humanity during that time. The Charter states, under CHAPTER I: PURPOSES AND PRINCIPLES, number 3; To achieve international co-operation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian character, and in promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion.

Human rights are the border or equal rights to every person. When I see a family who is less fortunate than I am it always reminds me why I am so lucky to be born into a good family and have all of these things that some people wish they could afford. Thankfully I can live everyday without fear for the person I am and that society accepts me for who I am. Hopefully, in the future I will have a successful life as a musician and live in peace and happiness.

Today I learned about pi and how it was created. In this blog I will summarize the number pi or 3.14 to you viewers and my one follower. The number pi is used to find the circumference of a circle. Diameter times pi equals circumference. First the Babylonians found that pi was roughly around 3. Then Archimedes found that pi was around 22/7. Also in 1706 the symbol for pi was created and was later proved that pi was an irrational number. Many people and machines have searched and are still searching for the end of the number pi. In 2002 pi was converted to decimal places to 1,241,100,000,000. That is enough to to take you 62 laps around the world.
