Today I learned about Rene Descartes and his help in modern philosophy. I also learned about some of his most famous words "cogito ergo sum" I think therefore, I am. This also concludes that my questions today are; Do you exist? How do you know you exist? Why do you think your existence matters? I know that I exist because everything grows and is alive not a hologram or a piece of plastic. I think my existence as for right now does not matter because I am just a person like any other regular person of my age. If I work hard enough then I can make my existence really matter as someone such as an inventor, entertainer, actor or anyone as long as I work hard.

Today I learned about Johannes Kepler and his three laws. He was a astronomer and lived from 1571-1630 and discovered these laws that are called "The Laws of Planetary Motion". Johannes discovered that the planet move in an elliptical orbit around the sun. Johannes also discovered that planets move faster in some areas of its elliptical orbit than other areas and cover the same amount of area in the same amount of time. The last law is that the closer to the sun the planet is the less time it takes to orbit the sun.
Also, Kepler also discovered that planets such as Mars have retrograde motion. This is when planets move opposite of their direction. These retrogrades cause a motion called epicycles where planets move in a circular motion before continuing on there elliptical orbit.

For today's question, I want to talk about equality for my blog. What is equality? I think of equality as everyone being equal. equal in rights, religion, race, gender, relationships everyone should have the same rights. I feel that we can achieve this but it will take a long time and a lot of convincing to do. An example of people being equal is Macklemore's song "Same Love". Also many states in the United Sates are starting to put gay marriage. Also a huge step in equal rights was the Civil Rights movement. Also, another huge step in racial equality is the first voted in African American president Barack Obama for the United States.

Today I had a very deep theoretical question involving philosopher John Locke. He was a 17th century philosopher. My question that I had today was what is the "Veil of Perception". This theory is that we can touch, smell, dream, and taste the world but are we really on the world or is it just an illusion. This is my interpretation of what I believe to be the ‘veil of perception.’
I think the veil of perception is kinda brain in a vat theory. How you think one thing but in reality it is another thing or that thing is not really there. I think as the veil of perception if it was true as the ultimate trick from the gods. I think that would not be possible to live in a make believe world while were doing something else but that could be true.
Locke's theory is still used today such as in the book Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. I think Orson Scott Card chose the name Locke as Peter’s fake name for the internet because people on the nets thought that Peter was a man but, actually he was a very smart kid.Wednesday, September 11, 2013
Yesterday I learned about astronomy and my question today are we to be or not be heliocentric? Helios means sun and centric means to be in the center. Long ago everyone thought the earth was centric in the universe, but that theory or assumption was proved wrong by Nicolaus Copernicus. He was was an astronomer and mathematician in the Renaissance era who made a model of the universe and discovered that the earth in not the center of the universe but the sun is and that is called heliocentrism. Johannes Kepler is a mathematician and astronomer. He was a very key figure in the 17th century and discovered and is known best for the eponymous laws of planetary motion. This means he discovered that the planets move in an oval orbit around the sun instead of a circle. He also provided the works for Isaac Newton's universal gravitation. Kepler also improved the refracting telescope, and mentioned his discoveries with Galileo Galilee.
Today is a very sad day for our nation for it is 9/11. 9/11 is when 2 planes crashed into the twin towers and 1 plane crashed into the pentagon. over 4,000 people died this day from an international suicide bombing from terrorists that were part of the terrorist group Al Qaeda which was led by the infamous Osama Bin Laden. Thanks to our military we stopped Osama Bin Laden's reign of terror on May 2, 2011. So today is the 12th year anniversary of 9/11 and it was a very sad time but to this day America will stand strong until the day that we all die from the apophis (if it ever happens).

Today I had a free day in doing my blog so today I am writing about my cat. My cat's name is Angel. She is part Highland and part Lynx. A Highland is a house cat and a Lynx is a cat that likes to be in forests and hunts prey. My cat also has five toes on each paw. She likes to have lots of attention so she follows me every where I go. She also meows very loud every time I leave my house to get something.
But what I like about her is that she can be very sweet sometimes and is very loving. Also every morning when I get up she takes a shower with me.

Today I learned about justice and virtue. So that leads to the question today, what is justice and is it our best virtue?Justice is an instinct in humans since the beginning of man. Justice is what keeps the world fair and nice. Virtue is what makes your moral composition. Examples: are you kind, creative,
fun, nice, or fair any of those things. I do think justice is our best virtue as long as it is fair justice so no one can be judged by their virtues and qualities and everyone should be judged the same.

Today I was learning about the equilibrium price. The equilibrium price is when supply equals demand. Now it is very hard to come upon a product that is at a equilibrium price. Any sort of product can be in equilibrium price from stock to animals like rabbits or cats. Also, stock is how much you would want to pay for a company. Say that you want to buy 10 units of stock from a root beer company then you would see how much money a piece of stock is. So lets say that a unit of stock from the Root Beer company you wanted to buy 10 units from cost 50 dollars a unit of stock. Buy you only have 300 dollars only enough to buy 6 units of stock. So you have a couple of options only buy 6 units of stock from that company. Look into a better company that sells stock for less. Buy a couple units of stock from one company and a couple units of stock from another company or you can not invest your money in stock at all. And there are places where you can buy, sell, or trade stock. This place in America is called Wall Street another place is Otavalo in Ecuador which is also the stock center for Latin America. There is also another key factor for stock and trading this is called price elastic and price inelastic this is how fast a consumer reacts to supply and demand.

Today in class I have learned about Plato. As most of you know Plato was a famous philosopher who founded the academy in Athens. He is famous for his book Republic. Plato was born on the year of 428 B.C. He founded the academy of Athens. Plato was also apprenticed and taught by Socrates. Plato created the theory of forms. My interpretation of Plato's cave which is in his book Republic is that you are thinking in a box and all the sudden you wonder and question everything around you. Also how you go to different restaurants and try something else even though you are used to the same thing. Another example is going to a different country and trying to understand their language, culture, and laws.
