INFINITY

What is infinity? This is a question that can not be solved. In fact a lot of people have tried to solve this but they can't because it's infinite. Thats what infinity is it is infinite. As am example there are as many even numbers as whole numbers. You may not get it but it is true. Another fact is that you can't list decimals and fractions I mean you can but you would die before you could finish because the numbers in math are infinite. It may take a while for you to wrap your head around the whole topic so this video I watched helped a lot  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPA3bwVVzGI the video talks about infinity and what it is and how it can be better explained.

Cartesian dualism

Today in my class I learned about Cartesian dualism and about the body, mind, and soul. Cartesian dualism was created by Rene Descartes, a person who I talked about in one of my past posts. Basically, what Cartesian dualism is a theory that your mind and body are separate and how your body is tangible and your mind is non tangible. First, in my opinion you can touch your mind but to do that it would be very painful. Second, how can your body be separated from your mind and if you could wouldn't scientists  have figured it out already. Third, I feel like your mind stays in your body but your personality, thoughts and emotions toward objects in real life stay the same. Finally, when you die I theorize that your body and mind stay together and stay six feet under ground in a coffin and decay only your personality, soul, thoughts, and emotions go to a place mankind has yet to adventure to.

Today I learned about finances and what it would be like to live off minimum wage at the age of 18. First, living on a minimum wage income is very difficult and hard to live off of. In addition, you have to pay rent ,taxes ,gas money, insurance, car insurance, food, water, electricity, and phone bill while keeping a job. However, I learned that you can cut down your rent, food, water, electricity, bill by either moving to a cheaper apartment or getting room mates. At first, I did not understand this roommate concept but the phrase "the more the merrier" donned on me and I understood why it is important to have roommates. Also, I learned that there are many distractions to spend your money on such as women/men, pets, clothes/ shopping and other fun or weird items that you would just want to have.

Today I learned about the universe and Newton's law on gravity, Newton’s law states that every particle in the universe attracts every other particle with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.

This means that the closer the objects are to each other the more they are attracted to each other. So I'll show an example. Lets imagine a car and Earth attracted to one-another. Thats why the car stays on the ground instead of the floating in the air. Another example of gravity at work is in this link below.

Today I want to discuss about politics and equal rights.

The Charter of the United Nations was established in 1945 after the end of WWII  acknowledging the devastation of humanity during that time. The Charter states, under CHAPTER I: PURPOSES AND PRINCIPLES, number 3; To achieve international co-operation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian character, and in promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion.

Human rights are the border or equal rights to every person. When I see a family who is less fortunate than I am it always reminds me why I am so lucky to be born into a good family and have all of these things that some people wish they could afford. Thankfully I can live everyday without  fear for the person I am and that society accepts me for who I am. Hopefully, in the future I will have a successful life as a musician and live in peace and happiness.

Today I learned about pi and how it was created. In this blog I will summarize the number pi or 3.14 to you viewers and my one follower. The number pi is used to find the circumference of a circle. Diameter times  pi equals circumference. First the Babylonians found that pi was roughly around 3. Then Archimedes found that  pi was around 22/7. Also in 1706 the symbol for pi was created and  was later  proved that pi was an irrational number. Many people and machines have searched and are still searching for the end of the number pi. In 2002 pi was converted to decimal places to 1,241,100,000,000. That is enough to to take you 62 laps around the world.

Over the last two weeks I have been on vacation, so I apologize to my follower for not posting anything. Also I want to tell the world about the marvelous experiences of my trip. First I had to go on a nine hour flight just to get to Heathrow which is an airport in England. Then we had to get a cab and drive 45 minutes to our hotel. Our hotel was very nice and I loved the rooms. I had a room with my two brothers and the bed and rollaway bed were very nice and comfortable. We had a quick nap and then we went to Royal Albert Hall. It was a very nice place and it was very exciting. We saw a band called Mcfly. The show was around 2 hours and I enjoyed all of it. Also their was a special performance from Busted a very famous British band. I also got VIP passes and saw 3 other Mcfly shows. Also we saw a lot of museums such as the Imperial was museum science museum and Victoria and Albert museum. We also had very good meals and I had a great time. If you want to contact me about my trip email me at Angelthecat78@gmail.com

Today I learned about Rene Descartes and his help in modern philosophy. I also learned about some of his most famous words "cogito ergo sum" I think therefore, I am. This also concludes that my questions today are; Do you exist? How do you know you exist? Why do you think your existence matters?  I know that I exist because everything grows and is alive not a hologram or a piece of plastic. I think my existence as for right now does not matter because I am just a person like  any other regular person of my age. If I work hard enough then I can make my existence really matter as someone such as an inventor, entertainer, actor or anyone as long as I work hard.

Today I learned about Johannes Kepler and his three laws.  He was a astronomer and lived from 1571-1630 and discovered these laws that are called "The Laws of Planetary Motion".  Johannes discovered that the planet move in an elliptical orbit around the sun. Johannes also discovered that planets move faster in some areas of its elliptical orbit than other areas and cover the same amount of area in the same amount of time. The last law is that the closer to the sun the planet is the less time it takes to orbit the sun.
Also, Kepler also discovered that planets such as Mars have retrograde motion. This is when planets move opposite of their direction. These retrogrades cause a motion called epicycles where planets move in a circular motion before continuing on there elliptical orbit.

For today's question, I want to talk about equality for my blog. What is equality? I think of equality as everyone being equal. equal in rights, religion, race, gender, relationships everyone should have the same rights. I feel that we can achieve this but it will take a long time and a lot of convincing to do. An example of people being equal is Macklemore's song "Same Love".  Also many states in the United Sates are starting to put gay marriage. Also a huge step in equal rights was the Civil Rights movement. Also, another huge step in racial equality is the  first voted in   African American president Barack Obama for the United States.

Today I had a very deep theoretical question involving philosopher John Locke. He was a 17th century philosopher. My question that I had today was what is the "Veil of Perception". This theory is that we can touch, smell, dream, and taste the world but are we really on the world or is it just an illusion. This is my interpretation of what I believe to be the ‘veil of perception.’
I think the veil of perception is kinda brain in a vat theory. How you think one thing but in reality it is another thing or that thing is not really there. I think as the veil of perception if it was true as the ultimate trick from the gods. I think that would not be possible to live in a make believe world while were doing something else but that could be true.
Locke's theory is still used today such as in the book Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. I think Orson Scott Card chose the name Locke as Peter’s fake name for the internet because people on the nets thought that Peter was a man but, actually he was a very smart kid.

Yesterday I learned about astronomy and my question today are we to be or not be heliocentric? Helios means sun and centric means to be in the center. Long ago everyone thought the earth was centric in the universe, but that theory or assumption was proved wrong by Nicolaus Copernicus. He was was an astronomer and mathematician in the Renaissance era who made a model of the universe and discovered that the earth in not the center of the universe but the sun is and that is called heliocentrism. Johannes Kepler is a mathematician and astronomer.  He was a very key figure in the 17th century and discovered and is known best for the eponymous laws of planetary motion. This means he discovered that the planets move in an oval orbit around the sun instead of a circle. He also provided the works for Isaac Newton's universal gravitation. Kepler also improved the refracting telescope, and mentioned his discoveries with Galileo Galilee.
Today is a very sad day for our nation for it is 9/11. 9/11 is when 2 planes crashed into the twin towers and 1 plane crashed into the pentagon. over 4,000 people died this day from an international suicide bombing from terrorists that were part of the terrorist group Al Qaeda which was led by the infamous Osama Bin Laden. Thanks to our military we stopped Osama Bin Laden's reign of terror on May 2, 2011. So today is the 12th year anniversary of 9/11 and it was a very sad time but to this day America will stand strong until the day that we all die from the apophis (if it ever happens).

Today I had a free day in doing my blog so today I am writing about my cat. My cat's name is Angel. She is part Highland and part Lynx. A Highland is a house cat and a Lynx is a cat that likes to be in forests and hunts prey. My cat also has five toes on each paw. She likes to have lots of attention so she follows me every where I go. She also meows very loud every time I leave my house to get something.
But what I like about her is that she can be very sweet sometimes and is very loving. Also every morning when I get up she takes a shower with me.

Today I learned about justice and virtue. So that leads to the question today, what  is justice and is it  our best virtue?Justice is an instinct in humans since the beginning of man. Justice is what keeps the world fair and nice. Virtue is what makes your moral composition. Examples: are you kind, creative,
fun, nice, or fair any of those things. I do think justice is our best virtue as long as it is fair justice so no one can be judged by their virtues and qualities and everyone should be  judged the same.

Today I was learning about the equilibrium price. The equilibrium price is when supply equals demand. Now it is very hard to come upon a product that is at a equilibrium price. Any sort of product can be in equilibrium price from stock to animals like rabbits or cats. Also, stock is how much you would want to pay for a company. Say that you want to buy 10 units of stock from a root beer company then you would see how much money a piece of stock is. So lets say that a unit of stock from the Root Beer company you wanted to buy 10 units from cost 50 dollars a unit of stock. Buy you only have 300 dollars only enough to buy 6 units of stock. So you have a couple of options only buy 6 units of stock from that company. Look into a better company that sells stock for less. Buy a couple units of stock from one company and a couple units of stock from another company or you can not invest your money in stock at all. And there are places where you can buy, sell, or trade stock. This place in America is called Wall Street another place is Otavalo  in Ecuador which is also the stock center for Latin America. There is also another key factor for stock and trading this is called price elastic and price inelastic this is how fast a consumer reacts to supply and demand.

Today in class I have learned about Plato. As most of you know Plato was a famous philosopher who founded the academy in Athens. He is famous for his book Republic. Plato was born on the year of 428 B.C. He founded the academy of Athens. Plato was also apprenticed and taught by Socrates. Plato created the theory of forms. My interpretation of Plato's cave which is in his book Republic is that you are thinking in a box and all the sudden you wonder and question everything around you. Also how you go to different restaurants and try something else even though  you are used to the same thing. Another example is going to a different country and trying to understand their language, culture, and laws.

Today in school I was learning about the planets. I learned there are three qualifications to be a planet  The planet must orbit a star or sun. The planet must have enough gravitational pull to form a sphere and it must be the only planet in a certain perimeter. Also, I want to talk about exoplanets. Exoplanets are planets like ours, planets that orbit around a star. There  are over a thousand   neptune sized exoplanets. Also, another topic is why pluto got dethroned as a planet. The 26th assembly of astronomical union decided to come up with a new rules on the qualifications of  a planet. Pluto only met 2 out of 3 of these qualifications so it was dethroned as a planet. Today I was going into math and thought what  if the number 0  is an invention? The number 0 was used by the Babylonians in 700 B.The  Babylonians first  used the number 0 as a place holder. Then later on a man named  Brahmagupta  started solving math problems using the number 0. What would happen if the number zero did not exist? The math system would have thousands of problems missing and incorrect. The economy would be off, we could never say I have zero tolerance or zero hour also we would not have the prime meridian and 0 degrees Fahrenheit and 0 degrees Celsius. I would like to here your opinion on this question so please leave a comment for this article.

Today I want to talk about politics. Today if you don't know is the 50th anniversary of the Martin Luther King "I Have A Dream" speech. The question I have to ask does politics have anything to do with liberty. First, there is no date or era when politics came about. The reason we started politics is for every one to be fair so people can't steal or kill someone and not be  tried or have a punishment. Another question is "what sacrifices do we pay for liberty"? I have to pay taxes and have to obey laws or I will be sent to jail. The last question is "what scenarios cause peoples freedoms to be different"? In my country every has the same rights as everyone else. But if you do something bad then you get sent to jail and you get some of your rights taken away. Also if you do something the public doesn't like such as the IRA scandal you will be sent to jail also. So only yourself or the president or your parents can limit your rights.

Economics

Today in school I am learning about the invisible hand. The person who came up with this theory is Adam Smith. Adam Smith was an economist that wrote famous books and became very successful. He wrote the theory of the "invisible hand".  The invisible hand is a natural phenomenon that guides free markets and capitalism though competition for rare  items. The invisible hand is a double-edged sword. It will help you and can not help you. An example is the company Coca-Cola company, in the 1980's they changed their recipe and people disliked it very strongly and had to go back to the old recipe. A good side of the invisible hand is benefiting yourself such as making a light bulb so you can become rich and you are helping people so they can have light.

Is your brain in a vat? That is one of the few questions that I will never be able to solve as while I am alive. I know that Rene Descartes came up the theory that someone could have your brain in a jar and could feed you an illusion of thoughts from an advanced computer.I also know that Hilary Putman a modern philosopher said that it is impossible to tell if your brain is controlled or not.

Life is going great with school starting its fun in the sun until fall. My guitar playing skills are quickly adapting so I can be better. I also want to thank BLACKSTAR AMPS for endorsing me thank you so much. Homeschooling is going great. This is my second year and i'm stoked to see what is in store for me. Some of my goals are to get better in education and have fun at the same time without being boring. I also can't wait for fall so the mosquitos and bugs can go away and so it will be colder when I run every morning. Also, love to go to the gas station and get lots of candy and icees. The sad thing is that the icee machine broke down so I am very bummed about that.
